Haven't been updating much. But all I've been doing is walking. Taking the dog out and going for a 40-minute power walk in the mornings. Not much, but better than nothing!
I will be out of town for the next few days- but I plan to do more walking (with sightseeing and geocaching) because I won't have a car.
I've gained weight the past week, and it's BAD! I need to rein in my junky eating as well as kick up the activity level. I also don't know the significance of this, but I have been laying on the cortisone cream lately for all the chigger and mosquito bites I've been getting with all the geocaching I've done lately... and I know that any cortisone (even that soaked in through the skin) can cause your body to gain weight. Not that I can blame my recent weight gain on the anti-itch cream! But that I also know that COULD be a factor- and I've also heard of stories where people have actually overdosed on cortisone just through the liberal use of cortisone cream. So while I have been using the cream quite frequently on my millions of bug bites- and I know I am applying it more often than I should- because these bites ITCH!! I am aware of the problems that could come from it- and watchful of any signs.
Anyway, I have been "on vacation" of sorts with the steady workouts this summer! Not good- but I also see this same pattern for the last 3 summers, too. I just don't think intense workouts are the 'thing' for me this time of year, because I just don't want to keep working up a sweat when it's hot. Something for me to keep in mind in this fitness journey of mine. Especially when it's a lifelong thing- and there are several more summers ahead in my lifetime! ;-) But it has been interesting to look back on my years of working out now- and seeing this part as a definite pattern that comes out each time. Late winter and early spring just seems to be my best time of year for staying on target.

Heh. Did I not just say the same thing recently!!! I find that I do well from January through May and then I tend to slack off for the summer and it is hard to get back on track until after the holidays. This year I want to try to get back on track once the girls are back in school and get back to making it a priority in my life! I still have about 20 lbs. to lose!
