Updating Again

I just bought some 20-lb dumbbells today.

So hopefully the next time I do a Sculpt workout, I will be able to max out the 'lawnmower' move. I just know that 10 lbs were not enough before. But I haven't worked out in awhile- so who knows?? :-P

But still- I'm sure I will be back up to needing the heavy weights pretty quickly.

I haven't done any serious or intense workout in awhile. But while I was in New Orleans this past weekend/week, I did ALOT of walking. All over the French Quarter area- but just not at a fast speed. No power walking except for a little here and there- but overall, lots of browsing. But I was still on my feet- and moving around at least! I just wish I would've had my pedometer with me- just so I could get an idea what distance was covered.

Some bad and sad news here though. I'm in a very icky spot. I now weigh nearly 140 lbs. After getting down to almost 120 (and my goal weight before)- I have allowed it to creep up to 125-130 or so and stayed there. And then in JUST this past month or so- I've let it go up from there to where it is now. S-C-A-R-Y for sure!!! How did that happen?!?? I didn't think I was eating that much, nor was I not-moving that much! But apparently I must have been waaay off balance on everything. I know I've had more junky stuff (and more eating out) since the summer started- but I guess I just wasn't expecting this amount of weight gain.

It's surely no mystery though. With my absence of any regular workouts, and the increase in junky foods... the math is simple. And I really have NO excuse for being surprised, except that I'd adopted this immune it-can't-happen-again-to-me attitude since discovering P90 and learning how to eat well. But you know what? If I go back to my OLD ways of eating (and not moving)- then it's no surprise that I might find myself right back at the old state.

So it doesn't mean that P90 doesn't work, just because I've gained weight back. I just means that P90 doesn't work when it just sits on the shelf and I sit on my BUTT. Just like any OTHER workout plan on the planet! But I do know P90 (and the X, and Turbo Jam... and I'm sure- all the Jillian Michaels stuff and The Firm)- they all work only if you DO THEM. Simple ownership doesn't get the work done. Working them gets the work done, and there's no other way.

So I need to get back to working out, seriously. Before I am in big trouble. But it really, really, really sucks that weight can pack it on so easily, and it takes so much work to get it to go away again. :-P
