Queen of Maintenance

Once again... I'm not seeing much change in my monthly photos. I even looked back on my photos from April, and some from last Fall... and they ALL look pretty much the same!! Although I can lift more than I could back then- I still LOOK the same! It's frustrating for sure- but at the same time, I am happy that I am able to maintain this well even when not watching what I am eating. I mean, I watch... but yet I'm not. I still have my treats. I still have my BBQ (more about that later). I still have my healthy stuff, too. It's just a big mix of foods. But because the treats are still in there, I know that is why I'm not shaving off any more of the fat layer. But it's good that I've learned how to keep those treats from "sticking".

I do like it that my arms show more shape as time goes by. Slowly, the definition is thinking about coming in.

And then while I was taking idiotic self-portraits anyway... I played with trying on some of my potential Halloween costumes. One is the catsuit... and it's unbelievably comfy! I just feel awkward wearing it though- because it's so very clingy and you can't hide ANYTHING that is in excess or lacking...
But anyway- I'm not sure what I will wear this year. No big plans, just out trick/treating with the kids, then staying at home to hand out candy to everyone else. Exciting, no?
Anyway- about the BBQ... I had a big craving for it in September and just couldn't get tired of it. And then I had labs drawn in September, too. And ugh, if my cholesterol didn't come back high!!! They won't be treating it with anything- just telling me to stop indulging the everyday BBQ cravings. LOL
Normally the total cholesterol is around 174... this time it was 212. Although all the specifics of each type are normal... the total is high. So I'm still good. Just no more BBQ feasting. It's amazing that what we eat can cause such big changes so quickly, right?
And a neat thing since last month... I ran my first timed 5K race- and did well! I didn't win any medals or anything, but I did come in at 37:25 and that's the best I've ever done! I clocked myself at 39 min- but somehow they clocked it as faster. 38min is the best I've clocked myself... so it's all pretty close anyway. My goal is to whittle that down to less than 30 min for a 5K. To win any awards, I'd have to whittle it down to closer to 20 min- but I can't see doing that. I'm just not a speed runner- I'm more of a jogger. Never say never, I know- but for this... I just don't see it happening!
