So I turned the water on and started working on the mess. Thankfully I at least remembered to put water into the various bowls and pots, so nothing was dried-on this morning. It was not hard to clean, but it was NASTY to clean!
I fed the kids a can of Ravioli as part of their dinner last night (again, lazy- I know) and while they enjoyed it... I now wonder just WHAT is it that I fed them?!?! This was the residue on a bowl that was at the bottom of the dish-pile (and not one of the bowls the kids used for the Ravioli):
Ick at the mess of fat and tomato sauce that is clinging to that poor bowl!!!! (the green bowl in the pot in the background is one of the bowls the kids ate out of.)
And this was the Line of Fat that was in the dishwater, next to one of my old plates (embarrassed about that plate... I only have ONE left, as it was out of a 4-serving set that I bought eons ago when I was in college- so that plate is the lone survivor of over 20 yrs of use...):

But icky plates aside... that line of fat is disgusting!!! It made me realize just how nasty FAT can be... how it must cling to the inside of US, the way it clings to the dishes. And how it's there with EVERY dish that contains high fat. It's just that it showed up with the ravioli dish (as well as other italian tomato-ey dishes) because the tomato sauce "stains" the fat so we can see it. I really don't think it's the tomato that is doing the clinging. It's the fat. The tomato just COLORS it.
Ick.
Oh- and uh.... no big workout all week yet. I did walk the dog for 30 minutes yesterday, but it surely wasn't anything very cardio. Just more leisurely. Still... better than nothing. But not anything that will get the results I want.
