Embarking on the Train of Fire

I am starting on the newest release from Beachbody- Turbo Fire!! I'm ready to test this program as well as testing myself- and see just what kind of trouble the two of us can get into in the coming months. :-)

I ordered the complete package- comes with a few things I didn't need, but that's okay- I now have back-ups in case I need more. The P90X Recovery drink mix... I should use this more often- though I often hesitate because of the sugar content... but the science behind it isn't that I'm drinking it like a soda- but having one ONLY after a really tough workout. So the sugar can replenish my used-up energy stores while the other things in the mix can help my muscles rebuild and recover. So it can be more prepared for the workout that is coming the next day, without being too sore! Okay, okay... I will start using this Recovery Crack again. It IS very yummy-tasting, I have to admit. Like a dreamsicle- slightly orange tasting and sweet.
Also- the green lower-body resistance band... I have a few of those. But I've also been known to BREAK them too... so yeah, it's good to have another on hand because I'm just a monster that way. ;-)

The red resistance band with handles... not sure if I will use that at all, as I'm more of a dumbbell kind of girl. But we'll see how Chalene uses it for her workouts- maybe it will work okay. Otherwise- it goes into my stash... maybe it will be a free giveaway one day.

But anyway- the rest of the package- I will definitely use!!! I am looking forward to testing this program- and testing myself! Bring it!!!!! Twelve TurboFire classes on 10 DVDs!
With class times ranging from 10 minutes up to an hour... so you have NO excuse to not fit SOMETHING in! The short 10-minute ones are for stretching or abs. The shortest HIIT workout is only 15 minutes. But I know it will be 15 TOUGH minutes! I know it will be something that will get the job DONE in a short amount of time- so there's no need to keep on going for hours on end. Lots of hours of cardio at a low-moderate intensity doesn't work like people believed for years. Now they know that high intensity interval training (HIIT) is the BEST way to burn the fat and boost cardio health! In the shortest amount of time, too!

The program schedule: I can see that "rest day" being moved around a little depending on what my week looks like- but I will do my best to keep up with the workouts going as planned.

Four DVDs of advanced workouts, too... for later when I'm more ready for them. That's like in the 4th month- when these start showing up in the schedule. So this complete program will be enough to last me awhile! From now through the end of the year! What will YOU do for the rest of the year to increase your fitness? I'm hitting TurboFire!

I will have more photos later- but for now, one of the "befores" that I'm not too ashamed to keep hidden. I'll show the rest later, once there is more to compare. Not much change from last December, or even this past March. Time to break through this plateau and make some changes happen again!
I am happy though- that I have been able to maintain my fitness and have STOPPED the crazy yo-yoing of pounds now!!! If I fluctuate- it's only 5 lbs (because of a vacation or something) and then I get right back into place. No more of the 5 lbs turning into10, then 20 and then more... NO MORE of that. It IS within my power and abilities to never again go above a size 8 again.

Now to just work on being able to run a full 5K without walking, too...but that will come in time also- I know it.
